The piece was beautifully written by Seth Biderman for the Academy for the Love of Learning, a nonprofit based in Seton Village, New Mexico, dedicated to large-scale culture change through programs that encourage transformational learning. When the Academy learned of Bethelson’s story, they saw it as a moving example of how one person’s transformation can ripple out and affect change. They were delighted to include it in their Profiles in Transformation series, which collects and publishes stories of people who have reconnected to their humanity.
Nation of Change also picked up the story.
